Because holidays are often very difficult for those who have lost loved ones, Suicide Awareness Survivors Support(SASS-MoKan), will hold their eleventh annual memorial service to help families during the holidays.
A “Hope for the Holidays” service will be held in the Rodgers Conference Center at Shawnee Mission Medical Center on Saturday,
November 17, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Guest speakers will be Stephanie Turner, a registered nurse who has spent the majority of her 25 years working with critical care patients.
Chaplain Mark Fenton will speak on “Holiday Symbols.”
Candle lighting and a slide show of loved ones lost to suicide will be shown during the service. If you would like to include a photo of your loved one in the rolling slideshow, please send it to [email protected] by November 15th.
You do not need to include names or dates on the pictures. If you have a picture that we have used in the past and would like to use the same one, just let us know via email address above. by November 15 and please r.s.v.p. also.
Music will be provided by harpist Juli Sackman and special guest, Oscar Polk, who will play the saxophone. There will be snacks and fellowship following the service.
There is no cost for this event.
